Default Help Choosing Power Commander

Hello All!

I'm about to do a Intake/Exhaust upgrade on my recently purchased 2002 Heritage. Very Clean, and very happy with it!

I want to also install the PCIII USB. Is the #805-511 the correct model?
I've followed some of the forum threads and have done some reading.
I learned about the 02 Sensor Eliminators. Are these required for my bike, to alleviate errors in the ECM? Do they come with the PC III??

Thanks Very Much for any input!!

Bodie

You have no O2 sensors, so your kit won't have them. If you don't mind spending around $50 more, I would buy a PCV instead, as it has more features and is a more modern device. It's true that DynoJet lists only the PCIII available for your bike, but Fuel Moto may sell a PCV "retrofit kit." Whether you buy a PCIII or PCV I would buy it from Fuel Moto because of their customer service, good prices, and you'll get an accurate map installed for your configuration.

Thanks for the Info, iclick!

I flipped thru the Manual and talked to a few people including Fuel Moto.
I found that there are In fact, no 02 Sensors on my year. Not till 07....I think.

Fuel Moto didn't mention that the PC V had an application for my bike. They did say that they Have a unit, branded with the Fuel Moto name but made by DYNO.......for $239. Its said to have the same features, with custom Mapping PRe-installed. I wonder if its worth a try?!

Thanks again for your input!!

Im pretty jealous of that Ultra...!

sj:

The FuelMoto unit for $239 is everything the PCIII USB unit is except it does not allow adjustment of the fuel levels by using the buttons on the unit itself (as it does not have the buttons on it). You have to do the changes in maps using a computer link (USB). Rest assured, the guys at FuelMoto will load a perfect map onto your unit if you give them all of the details of your bike. You can not go wrong with the FuelMoto unit.

Thanks SprungDave!
I am leaning toward this option. It's reasonable and seems like you get the same benefits.

One question I do have is, IF at some point I decide to have a Dyno tuner work on the tune....Will it be as easy for the Mechanic to tune without the buttons?
Or are the Button just external "fluff" and not really necessary?
(Tune Via PC)

One thing That I don't have is .....a PC! Haha! Im a Mac guy!

Oh well....have to figure that one out.

We don't use the buttons on the unit for dyno tuning anyways, so it makes no difference to us. The buttons are there so the owner can make adjustments (that you won't have to) if you desire while on the road and away from a computer. You will be fine with the FuelMoto branded one, it will do everything the PCIII does. FuelMoto will supply you with the MAP you need free of charge if you buy from them, they will also double the warranty of it if you buy through them.

Thanks Harley Tuner!
I contacted my local tuner here in So Cal. We had the conversation about Delphi Speed Density vs Magnetti Marelli Alpha-N system. He said the PC is made for the later.....Magnetti Marelli Alpha-N system.
He also said that the better choice.....and his Preferred choice was the TTS Master Tune.
I see that the Master Tune actually reprograms the Delphi, and doesn't correct parameters over the top of the Delphi system like the Power Commanders do.
Not sure how that adds up ....in the end result.

With Master Tune, theres nothing added to the motorcycle and the local tuner is apparently comfortable with it.
In reality the Master Tune is only $150 more than the Fuel Moto PC.

If its the better choice....it's Not going to break the bank.

Any thoughts??

Im Not afraid to tune a motorcycle. However I am NOT a Pro!
But.....I am trying to educate my self.
