Can anyone tell me if the map on the sert CD is the same as the dealer will do on a Stage 1 download?
All I am ever going to do is V&H Ovals and the SE air box. The reason I ask about the cd and download is because no dealer in the area admits to being able to dyno a sert, so if I must use a canned map, why not just go the cheaper route? Or is the basic download for my setup from fulemoto on the PC lll any better then the canned map on the sert? This bike will prob never see a dyno.
I believe the download and the can map for the sert are fairly close to each other if not the same. Usually the download is going to be on the lean side. Even if your canned map is a little lean. You can always richen it up a little with the software. You dont' have to have the bike dyno-tuned. If you post the symtoms here. Someone could help you with the minor tweaking.
The SERT MAP for mufflers and an air cleaner will not be the same as the dealer Stage 1 legal flash. It would be closest to a Stage 1 Race flash. If you have an O2 sensor bike. I would recommend the SERT over a PC ESPECIALLY for O2 equipped bikes!
The Bike is an 07.....so it would be best to go with the Stage 1 Race flash off the cd, would this be richer then the download?
I would get a good deal on the SERT and use that. It will be reuseable in the long run when you decide you want to make changes and will be perfect for what you have now. Again, unless the dealer has a stage 1 race flash, using a stage 1 legal would be of no benefit for the mods except to raise the rev limit.

As you may know from previous posts, I bought the PCIII and so far so good. I am interested in the SERT and the use of the o2 sensors. I know this bike (07) is still puzzling many of us. I have tried to keep up with both of your posts to educate myself.
I tried to post this on Friday night but I guess I never sent it... In Maryland, it appears will will eventually go to emission testing for motorcycles as we do cars. Assuming I still have the same bike when this happens, I plan to either put the stock slip-ons back on and upload a lean map to the PC or change it all back to stock on testing years. What would you have to do if you had the SERT to get it to pass ? I know this isn't an issue yet but I'm trying to look ahead. Sure wish all this EPA stuff for bikes never came down the pike. Thanks for your input and keep your well informed posts coming !
to O_S_E and Shovelhead Bob,
Sorry to hijack the thread...
Please advise if SERT map 78 (159PZ003) would work as a baseline map on a brand new 2007 Ultra with the Ovals and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1. I will then get bike dyno'd after breakin (1,000 miles)
Thanks

I can't answer that as I don't work for the govt. However, I do know that having working O2 sensors will be better than having them disconnected!!!
