Wish i would have heard of the TM auto tuner before i spent all that time and money on the PCIII and dyno tunning that never seemed to work on my 07 ultra. Install the TM auto tuner just last week and what a difference after just 250 miles on the bike. More than pleased and just a couple more tweeks i think this could be the best bike i have ever owned. HI flow air, joker machine slip ons and bassani true duels with the power curve. Wow what a sound!! Just a slit ping problem at W O T . Were working on that this weekend.Spend the money nowit will save you a lot of heart aches.Best money that i've spent so far. P>S> I have a PCIII for sale.
Hi there!
Did anybody lower the idle with the Thundermax ECM (without the Auto Tune)? Is it complicated to be done?
Easy, go into the settings menu and set the idle to whatever you want. Keep in mind that you do not want to go to low as to diminish your oil pressure.
Add me to the list of VERY satisfied ThunderMax/Autotune owners with my Marelli conversion !
I will chime in on the Thundermax w/autotune...I started out as a dissatisfied harley owner. I purchased my 07 Fatboy on July 28th and rode it for 500 miles...at 1000 miles I complained to the dealer that my bike truly sucked, no power up a grade, pinging, VERY hot engine, etc. They suggested that i get some SE stuff and a race tuner...the entire bill was well over (estimated) 2500 bills. My reply was bullsh**. I shopped around and got some idea what wanted...I figured I could add one thing at a time so I started with the K&N and that helped, I added the SE slipons and that helped a bit more, one week later I added the TMAX w/Autotuneand had I added that first, I MAY have stopped there...it ran INCREDIBLE! I could not believe that one product could do all it did. I at 1800 miles (last weekend) I added an Andrews 37H and without adjusting the TMax at all, it was like I unleashed a monster. If you only buy ONE thing for your motorcycle, buy the Tmax w/auto tune or the DTT wideband model...you will be happy that you spent your money wisely. I now have 2100 miles on this machine and it runs better every day.
My mileage did not suffer too much. Stock, I was getting about 46 MPG but no smiles. Now I get about 40 to 46 depending on how I ride...if i can keep from twisting so much I could probably get better. My bike sounds great and more importantly, runs great and I am happy I have it.
yes, when you increase the fuel part of the air fuel ratio, you'll run cooler and ping less or not at all...it will really help in that regard...search around this site for tuning and you'll see that there are many here who have used power commanders or some other form of fuel management.
I love my TMax, got it from Cateye Custom (Shooter64 on this forum). Great product, great service. I can replace it with the stock ECM in about 90 minutes and the majority of that is getting the O2 sensors out. Bike runs better, idles smoother, starts quicker than before. As for the PCIII, I have been told [so I'm not 100% confident] that with anything that piggybacks on the OEM ECM that they can leave code in the ECM that allows the dealer to know it has been done. With the origianl ECM sitting in a box, that is not the case with the TMax.
