Default SE Stage 1 Flash & Security Code

I just had my 2005 Softail Heritage with EFI flashed with the Screamin' Eagle stage 1 codes and now it appears I have a different startup light sequence...

When I turn the ignition switch "ON", all of the normal diagostic checks and lights illuminate and then go out as they always have. Then the security key light comes back on for about 2-3 seconds and goes out again!?!? I don't remember this second illumination before. Everything, including the security system seems to work normally, but it has me wondering if this is a fault code or just the way it works with the flash.

Anyone else notice this?

TCSTD,

Thanks for the info...

I checked the codes/load and they were as follows:

P - None
- PN 32919-05
S - U1255
- U1016
- PN 68923-00C
SP - U1255
- PN 67033-04A
T - not installed...

I cleared the codes via the procedures and the fault codes came back along with the extra security key light flash during startup.

I assume the "PN" numbers are the version of that particular code. According to the links you gave (thanks again), the fault codes show several meanings and were as follows:

U1016 - Loss of ICM/ECM Serial Data Instruments.
& - Loss of ECM Serial Data, Vehicle Speed, Vehicle Inhibit Motion or Powertrain.

U1255 - Serial Data Error/Missing Message EFI
& - Serial Data Error/Missing Message Instruments
& - Serial Data Error/Missing Message TSM/TSSM
& - Missing Message at Speedometer EFI

What does this mean to me? It means Mr Harley Davidson Service Guy will get a call tomorrow with the question of WTFO??? I would think they could correctly install the flash without any additional code issues, but I guess not... [&o]

Again thanks for the info!

They should be responsible to clear and reset it since they just did the reflash.

Dropped by the HD dealer who flashed my EFI the first time and in 10 minutes all is well...

TCSTD, once again I thank you for the code-check procedures listed above. While sitting at the dealer and the service manager watching, I ran through all of the checks and came up with "NONE" in each categories. No fault codes now.

There's a post in the DIY section in tech tips that explains a problem with the light after a reflash, glad its squared away in any event.

Ok, please don't think I'm brain dead but the same thing just happened to me as far as key light being on. I read the do-it-yourself and got the code. For S it shows U1016 - which is same as described in an above post.

But I still don't get it... now what do I do? Clear it and don't worry about it? Take it to the stealer? Any help is appreciated. It's a 2005 RKC Only work done to it is Stage 1 with remap.

If you clear it and it comes back, then you have a code set that tells you there's something wrong. If you just had the remap done, take it back to the dealer for diagnosis, there have been some issues with setting codes after a remap. You might want to print this out and take it with you https://www.hdforums.com/m_68408/tm.htm

They should have checked for codes after the flash...

Take it to the dealer who flashed it and tell them to fix it. If this happened just after the reflash, they didn't do the setup correctly and it is on them to make it right.
