Definately note what One Screeming Eagle is pointing out. Make sure this is not an underlying problem first and have it corrected if you are having trouble. Thesemodifications will not correct a problem with the injectors or poor running. Resolve this trouble first then have FUN.
Thanks OSE.. If I had really read what he was saying I would have noted his symptoms and complaint too, good catch.
The Stage 1 download is a waste of money if you plan on either the SERT or Power Commander. You would just be putting money in the dealers pocket for nothing as these units are going to remap the fuel curve anyway.
I have both AC, and I agree the back plate on the AN is better, and IMHO the breather system is less likely to allow the ever present misting. Have not seen misting on my UC by have seen with the SE AC on my Dyna.
I did the SERT download on both bikes, and I certainly would't pay a dealer to do it. however, the map for my UC i think was still a bit lean, so I had it dyno'd and had a custom map built. both bikes, one with just a SERT provided map, and the other with a modified SERT map run great and now neither appear to be running lean.
installing the slip-ons is anothe easy item. i spent more time getting the saddlebags off than it took to install the mufflers. I did however, drill a small hole thru the muffler and header pipe and install a rivet as a back-up in case the clamps come loose. The SE IIs instructions had this, and I thought it would be a good thing to do on the V&Hs on my UC to keep them from creeping loose.
