Had problems with my starter clicking and not turning over, put a new battery in it and bike started and ran good at first, now after I shut it down and try to restart it the starter drags like the battery is weak but will turn it over, double checked battery and it still shows full charge, all cables corrosion free and tight.Time for a new starter?
If nothing has been done....and the only thing that has been done was the installation of the new battery.
I know you checked the cables for corrosion and tightness....but look at the stud on top of the starter where several cables are attached to. Corrosion has a way of getting in there even though there is a rubber cap there. If clean and it is tight there...try using a jumper wire from the stud to a good ground such a bolt on the block. Then try to start the engine....if it starts, then you have a bad ground from the starter.
Double check the battery again. It might show you have 12 volts or more...but Cold Cranking Amps is what gets the engine started. Are your lights strong and do all other electrical items work?
