Intermitant Charging - Stator?
2008 Ultra Classic
I just replaced my battery, never noticed the problem before, but every now and then after initial crank, I will look down and see that my charging is not up to the 14.2v that it usually is. Every now and then I will actually get a battery light. It will be down around 11-12v when I notice this. But sometimes I can cut off the bike and re-crank and all is good? I'm just trying to figure this out? Thanks.
Is my stator dying? or have ya'll seen another issue that might cause this? Thanks for any help.

my guess would be if your battery terminals are clean and tight.
i would look at the voltage regulator,
you can check the voltage coming out of the stator before the regulator and see if the readings are in specs.
usually when a stator goes its gone.

Thanks guys, I have only checked the battery connections. Didn't think about error codes. :-)
