I have a problem with a efi flstfi bike the engine light in speedo comes on sometimes when riding.
I took it to the dealer to ck. out and put on rear tire while I was there. He said the problem was with a turn signal module someone either replaced it and did not reset code or it is giving a problem.Well when I left the dealer and made it 2 miles down the road and it was back on but there is still no problems with turn signals.Should I spend the money to get it fixed even though I show no other problems. My worries are when I do have a problem with something Im not going to think nothing of the light if I just leave it the way it is.
Any thoughts considered appreciated..
Sorry I can't help without hooking up to a computer with diagnostic capeabilities , but in my experiance the dealers are not always correct in efi problems. I had a air problem on my efi and I had to go to 3 dealers to get the problem fixed.
Knowing nothing about HD's computer~I still can't help but wonder why the turn signal would turn on the EFI light under any circumstance. If true, it is a poor engineering effort.
If I understand you correctly, your little yellow "check engine" light is on...the same on we wait to extinguish when starting up while the computer runs its diagnostics...
If you are getting that light, you've got a problem. If the bike is under warranty, take it back, and let the dealer spend some of his money figuring out, Harley will make sure he is reembursed. Every time that light goes off, it stores the code in a history file. Have your dealer hook your bike up and take a look at the codes...should be able to procede from there.
I have a red eng. light but yes it acts like it checks everything then goes out.It will come back on usally before u get through the gears.
I just bought the bike but I usally use a custom shop that has been in buisness for more than 25 years
and have never had any problems with the guy. He's been great considering that dam moco...
He said it showed it had been started 50 times since it came on reset it but did not hold. Im not sure why a turn signal module would show that either, but was just wondering how important it was or if someone has dealt with this.I again know it's got to be important cause I'm not going to know when something else happens.Thank's in advance!!!!
