Greetings all. Here's my story...I bought a used bike that came with slip on's, an A/C, and a Fuel Moto FM-807 tuner. I've had the bike about a year and a half, and am about to do cams. I've never made any kind of tuner change, even when I changed out my stock headpipe to a 2-1-2. The tuner came with a usb cord and a 9 volt battery hook up, but the disc with the maps (I guess thats what's on it, I don't know) wasn't included. I'm talking to a different couple of tuners locally and will have a dyno tune after cams. I'm trying to gain some basic knowledge about the process of downloading a map that matches my particular combo and loading it to the tuner. I already contacted Fuel Moto but they don't support products purchased used. I have never connected the unit to a computer. I'm about to begin wading through all the info on the FM site, I was just hoping someone could just cut to the chase. Thanks.
I think it's made by dynojet (same people as powercommander). Call them [dynojet] up and ask if 1. it is similar to the PC3 or PC5? 2. Will it take the same maps? 3. Ask them to send you a map closest to your setup.
It's the PC3. I've found a sort of kind of map, but no map matches my particular brand components (S&S Power Tune duals/Rinehart slip on's, and Big Sucker A/C) and no mention of cams on any map. To be clear, I'm not going to map it myself I just am trying to gain an insight so I'll know a little about what's going on at the tuners. My head pipes have O2 bungs in them that are plugged, for all I know the tuner has some wideband sensors he can install just to do the tune and can alter the current map values. I don't know yet what is possible.
From what I can make out the current map in your PC3 can be adjusted and fine tuned to work just right with your build. A different map may get closer to the optimum, but isn't essential if your builder is familiar with tuning the PC3. Take a look at the Power Commander website, which gives some useful information on what the PC3 can do. My reading of it is that getting a new map isn't essential, but talk that through when choosing your builder.

I was looking at the site last night, but there's more info there than I could read. I'll get back to it tonight. Thanks for research and thoughts.

If you load the Power Commander software on your computer, you can download and save maps from DynoJet. You can also look at the map values to see what they are using and make changes if you wish. Read the DynoJet tuning manual...available on the site.
Any of these maps may then be uploaded to the PC3.
Look for a stage 1 map (for now). Something with aftermarket A/C and slip-ons. It doesn't have to match the brand names on your components to get you in the ball park.
After you do the cams, look for a stage 2 map (stage 1 with cams) that uses your cams or one with similar specs, and download that.
A good tuner will use wideband sensors. Either with your bungs (if the correct size), or sniffers up the exhaust pipes. Make sure you get a copy of the tune and the dyno sheets.

Give Fuel Moto a call. My bet is they have a map for your config (or close) and will email it to you. Save yourself some time and $. Unless you want to squeeze every last bit of performance out, you don't need to have it dyno'd
