Default 01 carb FXDL short to battery

So, been a while since I've been on here, but I've run out of ideas.
6 or 7 month ago, while cruising down the interstate at night, 2 wires leading to leds that my forgetful %$&* forgot to fuse, met. And shorted. Simplest and dumbest mistake, I'm aware. No more wiring under the influence.
regardless, short was to the battery, headlights popped, dash lost odometer and needles, and then the engine quit. Shut off kill switch and ignition, but didn't realize leds were cause, they were last to be turned off, regretably.

now, months after, I've replaced the battery, checked every component I could from speedo sensor, tail light head light voltage, power to ignition module and power to coil. Dash and idiot lights are receiving power, kill switch is functional, and still no spark.

my current suspicion is the DTT tc88 since I've really run out of components that would cause it to behave such and not start or have dash readout. I can turn motor over using solenoid plunger, so starter components are fine, but not actuating with start button.

not as though the bike has a ton of electrical components, I removed the tsm module and at dtts instruction, grounded wire 10 to adjust for that.

So if its not, by some chance, the module, might send it to them but they want $25 and shipping to tell me if it works, what else could be causing my lack of electrical functionality, yet power to everything?

Forgot to add, why I replaced the module originally was, the smell of burning plastic was emanating from the ignition module and the tsm. They were not functioning as far as I could tell, so I got the tc88.
I asked Dtt what they thought and they said its not their module, I've got other problems. And said to take it to harley. If I had the money to do that I would've been riding 6 months ago....

Electrical problems can be difficult to track down at the best of times. It sounds as if you have had a catalogue of things fail, which means there may be even more of them holding you up. There is no easy answer to your situation that I can offer.

You're right not to try a dealer, partly because they are darned expensive, also they are not known for their analytical skills! All I can suggest is to ask around locally for an indy who knows electrics. If you are determined to carry on yourself, then get the factory 'Electrical Diagnostics Manual' for your model and year.

Best of luck!
