I have a 2004 Road King FLHRI that has lots of decal pop. I have a PowerVision from a previous bike that I have used to load a tune from FuelMoto. Runs good but still has lots of decel pop.
I got the bike used and it is still stock except for Rush slip-ons from the previous owner. So there are no O2 sensors on the bike. I plan on changing out the breather and pipes down the road when I have the money, so till then autotuning is out.
I have a friend that said I can try out a V&H FuelPak that he is not using anymore. He liked it on his bike but he also has upgraded to a PV.
My question is, can I try out the FuelPak with the current tune I have loaded from FuelMoto? Or do I have to load back the original tune that was pulled from the ECM when the PV was married to the bike?
the fuelpak and the PV are 2 different systems, you cant use the together or run the same numbers with both of them,, they are not interchangeable... from the info you have given there may be other mods done to the bike other then pipes, and the fuelpak tells you to leave the o2 sensors hooked up, the PV tells you to unhook them and not use the o2's... i think you need to find out what other mods have been done to the bike and then go from there

I agree with the above. Once you pull off the PC, the Fuel Moto map you received leaves with it. You will be back to the factory ECM settings (they never changed, but the PC was overlaying some changes between the ECM and the end that goes 'bang').
My experience with the FP on a 2009 Street Glide was that I could get it close, but not perfect, and V&H was pretty secretive about letting everyone know what the numbers on the tuner were doing. In other words there were standard 'recipes', but tweaking them was a bit difficult. Maybe that has changed over the years...
last year i went from the fuelpak to the PV5 because i couldnt get the popping out of the decel on my dyna, and i found that the pv i much more adjustable and easier to use, V&H doesnt give any info on the fuelpak as far as the numbers go, and i got frusterated with trying to get help from them and them giving me the run around... so now i dont have time for the fuelpak crap

I don't think so. The 05/06 ECM supports O2 sensors. The 04 does not.
You'd have to change the ECM to 05 or later (according to the TTS tuning manual. The appendix discusses O2 conversion on pre 07 bikes) and manually add the connections.
I have run the V&H Fuelpak on two FI bikes with great results. On one I had the TD exhaust, V&H AC, and was having bad decel pop. The Pak stopped that and the bike ran smooth. Same results on the other one. I called V&H and they were very helpful with my questions. As long as you don't do any cam changes, TB body, injector changes then the Pak is the way to go. They come with a set of instructions with plenty of settings to use. I would buy another one if I needed it. Take Care Fairshake
After countless hours of research, I finally pulled the plug and bought/installed the FuelPak on my 2012 Softail Deluxe. It's by far the easiest modification that I have ever done on my bike; it literally took me 30 minutes to install and program. I think is one of the easiest, effective and most economical way to tune your EFI bike, if you have a stage one filter and aftermarket pipes. I just came back from a ride and the bike feels it just woke up from a deep sleep. No more decel popping and the bike runs very powerful and cooler. BTW, I have zero affiliation with Fuelpak. I'm just giving you guys an unbiased review of the product. I highly recommend it!!!!!
