Looking for some advice on getting the V&H fulepak to fit under the seat on a 07 Fatboy. I have followed all the instructions and lowered the relay box but there just doesn't seem to be enough space to fit all the components flush to the frame. The cables and wiring bundles are too thick and inflexible to move things around enough. Anyone have any words of wisdom or sage advice. I'v done several searched but can't find anything that helps. Thanks in advance!
I just finish mounting a fuelpak on an 06 nightrain and I had the same problem. I took out the bracket holding the relay box and lowered it down but I couldn't for the life of me get it to sit nice and flush to the frame. It kept wanting to pop up above the battery because of the thick wiring. While trying to seat it it felt like I was putting to much stress on the plastic connecter that plugs into the ECM while trying to place it like it was in the instructions. I just sort of pushed it down to the point where it was not about to pop up and over the battery and just put the seat back on.
This does seem to be a problem. I installed a security alarm on the bike and just barely had room for that. Guess I wont be using the V&H Fuel pack.[&o]
That's why I like S.E.R.T. but it's your money, with my set up nothing is moved are piggy back on bike because the computer store'swhat tune the tech. think's is the ut most for power and tourqe than it's un-pluged and I have S.E.R.T. disc and cable's in my cabinet in bedroom, so it's there if I want to change pipe's or do re-build on now running great 06 103 scremin eagle fat boy PURPLE HAZE.
G'day Batman, I have a V&H fuelpak on my '07 NT. Used a couple of plastic zippy ties and some velcro to hold everything in place and to re-position the loom a little. Tight fit yes but does fit.
Thanks for all the advice, I am begenning to believe the problem is the seat. I have a badlander I took off my 01 NT and it has a bit more clearance than the stock Fatboy seat. I'll pull out a hacksaw and make the sucker fit! If anyone has a pic of a placement that worked for you I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for the help.
