Over the winter I took out my SE 203 cams and put in a Andrews 26G set-up. I have the PCIII and it seems to me it needs to be tuned again. It doesn't appear to be way off but it certainly needs some touch up tuning.
My question is should I expect the standard 4 hr. charge or can it possibly be done in 1, 2, or maybe 3 hours? I plan on taking it to the dealer that originally did the tune so they already have a baseline and my name and bike listed in the computer. What do you think?
203's and 26G's are a little bit different, but where in the map the changes need to be made is where the Expertise of the tuner comes in....
I'll tell you, if it was coming back to me, you would be getting charged full pop, as it is a completely new CUSTOM map...
That is just our shop... We tune it for the specific build that we did, and after that, any changes that need done, as in your case, a cam change, it will need the WHOLE map gone through, 0-100% Throttle positions, and 1000 through 6000 RPM's... Full ride....
You want it to operate correctly, then the tuner will do the full map...
I have only had 1 customer say that they didn't want a full custom map done, and 3 days later called back complaining that there felt like holes in the powerband....
Well no scheitt Sherlock.... You pay for 50%, you get 50%.....
