Trouble codes and runability problem
I have a 97 FLHRI and the check engine like comes on intermittently. When that happens the engine revs up. It can happen at a stop light or while going down the road. The problem resolves itself after a few seconds. I do not have a scanilizer or a HD-41197 test lamp. Does anyone know where I can get a test lamp and can I check stored codes with that? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks for any help!

Problem solved
For anyone else having this problem; I replaced the Engine temp sensor (local dealer had it in stock). I have been riding for a week and had not had the problem again. Part was around $100. Problem solved.
