Default Need tuner advice

2006 Street Bob with a/c, bassani road rage 2-1, and soon to have SE 204's. Currently I'm running the V&H fuelpak (crap) and I'm trying to decide between getting the power commander V or the power vision. Which one would you all recommend and why?

The Power Vision has much more capability. If you have a bike with O2 sensors (I believe 06 Dyna's had O2 sensors)you can run autotune and get a very good tune without needing to go to a dyno tuner.

It also provides a display for tuning or monitoring various ECM and PV parameters, and tuning can be accomplished with or without a computer.

The PCV can't do any of these things.

It does appear there is an autotune module/kit for the PCV, but it looks like it's a total of 3 or 4 things hooked up at once to make it work vs the 1 PV console. Not disagreeing that the PV has more capability, however.

I'm admittedly a thundermax fan, but for my touring bike I'm thinking the PV is the way to go. If I'm out in the middle of nowhere or just on a long trip, I need a computer to do anything with my t-max. The PV looks abougt the size of a GPS that I can just throw in my saddlebag.

I'd love to get the t-max but just a bit more than I wanted to spend! Awesome tuner though, hands down looks like the best you can get!

I love it on my 2004 Heritage. It does cost a bit more, but the capability is impressive and I think it's easy to set up and use the autotune. Besides, adding the "pro" kit with the PV makes its price point right at what the Thundermax costs. *Without* (edit) the pro kit for PV, you're only using narrowband sensors.

Well, there is also the better featured TTS with flight recorder.

PV will get it done, too. I,myself, would stay away from a PC5 since your bike was the very first MOCO big twin with O2 sensors.

And... since this is a O2 equipped Delphi bike, the TTS or PV route will net better results, in the end, than a TMax would. All things being equal.

Do I have to have the PV hooked up while I'm riding in order to use autotune? That's one of the things I really like about t-max. It's just collecting data while you ride, then you just hook it to a computer (no internet required) whenever you want and run the autotune.

Same thing, basically with TTS flight recorder or the PV. They record data while riding, download, make a new tune, rinse and repeat until VEs are in good shape. You can throw them in a side bag or wherever, some mount their PV to the handle bars. Some still hook up a laptop and a monitor to go out and gather data. This tactic mirrors how dyno tuners dial in TTS. In this manner, each and every cell can be filled out with good solid data. Flight recorder changed the game for TTS guys. Just like with you, they have to try hard to gather data in each and every cell. It's a little hit or miss, but flight recorder will do hours of data inside.

You are going to like BWoltz, BTW. I hope he stays around, because he knows and understands TMax very well and can get one dialed in very nicely. He can help fill the knowledge holes for you guys that use TMax. I don't know if I will be able to do so, but I would also like to get Mayor (Mike) over here, too. He has even made training videos for TMax. I don't know if he will do this, tho.

Can recommend any good videos for using the power vision? Really hoping going from just pipes, a/c, and crappy V&H fuelpak; to power vision, 204's, and 30T, I'll notice a huge difference and she'll pull harder!
