Color tune!

Excellent notes, good process. I use a sonic cleaner with good results. Toilet bowl cleaner will soak off gunk from jets; cheap, easy and thorough. I carefully use carburetor "whisker wires" to clear micro holes without damaging them. $10 on Amazon.
Check out a product from the UK called Colortune. I just used it, fantastic! It is a sparkplug with a clear insert. You put it in #1 cylinder in place of the regular plug and hook up the wire to it as normal. Start the engine and you can actually see the flame front! Clear and easy! The color tells you if you are rich or lean. Orange is rich, "Bunsen" blue it spot on, white is lean.
Adjust the air/fuel screw while looking at the flame front color to dial it right in. Takes 20 seconds. Diagnose jet issues, air leaks, advance problems, etc. $40 from the UK.
Evidently these were very popular in Europe back in the day. Watch on YouTube and give it a try...

Just to wrap up, I dialed it in nicely with a .83 slow and 170 main. That's with 2" drag pipes with a 4" baffle. I have not ridden it at speed yet so there could be more changes coming.
