Hey Piniongear, Could you tell me about your headlight? What size is it, how did you mount it and where did you put all the wires and connectors that used to be in the stock headlight housing? Thanks
Motorcyclist.....
The headlight is a chrome Bates type of light. The outside diameter of the bezel is 6-1/2 inches. The OD of the glass is 5/1/4 inches.
I made the bracket out of stainless steel plate, cut out the shape and put a bend in it back towards the stem. (You can buy a mount plate....much cheaper that stainless)
The wires that were in the light I removed. All I need is a high/low beam, so I have the 12V power going to the dimmer switch, then 2 wires going from the dimmer into the headlight. One wire is low beam and the other is high beam.
If you want such a light set up (or similar to it anyway) go to J&P Cycles. http://www.jpcycles.com
See page 308 of the 2008 catalog for the bracket. Part #3100135.....$15
See page 295 for a similar light in chrome. Part #3100165......$38
