Default Tank Liner

Whats your all's opinion on the better tank liner?

Kreem, Red-Kote, or POR-15?

I realize this is not a listed choice, but my vote goes to a new tank as being the best choice.......... pg

I have not ever used any of them - always take my tanks to a shop where they use RedKote. However, i have heard many times on other forums about Kreem peeling off when used on rusty tanks. Also, that RedKote and POR are excellent products.

PG, it is a brand new tank. Just concerned on lining it to prevent rust. Is your thinking not to line it at all?

Correct Randy. Especially if the tank is new, it will remain rust free a lot longer than you will.
I would never line a tank. Too many problems with those products.......pg

I think I'm going to save the money and take your word on it.

I was looking through your pictures on photobucket for a picture you had posted a while back and noticed your building or were building a R/C plane. Couldn't tell if that was a flex or Nitro or just plain electric. I fly R/C heli's. Didn't know you were into that hobby.

Yes Randy, I do have the plane, nitro powered by a Super Tigre GS45 engine.
It is a Cherokee 40.

I also have several engines of different sizes and a couple of, as yet un-built' kits...... a Great Planes Extra 300S 40 size and a Tower Uproar, again in .40 cu in size.
But, I have yet to fly the Cherokee. It seems if it isn't one thing to do, it's six, so I just haven't had the time so far.
The helicopters are very popular. I believe I would find that too much of a challenge for me, so I better stick to planes.
Just too little time it seems.............. pg

Looks to be coming along quite well though.

I think people really like helicopters because of the variety of them. There's so many prebuilt kits.

Good planes need to be built like your doing. I haven't gotten my skill set up of flying to do that. I'm too afraid of damage. That sport isn't cheap. Replacement parts can cost an arm and a leg.
