Would it be worth taking it apart first and selling off the current frame? Thinking this way I can recoup some of the cost of buying a new frame and not having to modify the existing. I could do the world a favor by not destroying another original IH frame. Is there a market for the original frames? Its in good shape, nothing wrong with it as far as I can see. My biggest concern about this project seems to be the down time without riding. May have to wait until winter as Im seeing alot of guys tend to make this an off season project. Makes sense I guess, too cold to ride anyhow.

Winter time is better for workin on that stuff IMO! Buying a decent frame vs cuttin an original up is a good idea... make sure you get a frame that can be titled. There are some good ones out there. I would check with your state or a builder that would know what the ramifications of building the bike from scratch is essentially what your doin and what it takes to get a title. I know in PA its a PITA!!!!
