I have a 83 XLH 1000 was having same problem getting neutral at stops. Was told readjust the clutch. So, I did just that according to specs. And now after a few times trying ,I squeeze the clutch and put it in first and it starts to go and it won't shift. Any suggestions?

Might be some help here. Read the whole thread to get more educated but see especially post #73 for exactly how to adjust the clutch ...
