Default wide tire kit?

Yes, I'm aware that a wider rear tire doesn't do anything for handling, but a 180mm with a short fender would look great on my black '83 XLX. I know that Harley used the XLX frame for a few years after the ironheads were replaced by the evolution engines, but I think the issue with fitment is the chain drive? I believe that the wide tire kits that are offered are for '91 and up due to the belt drive replacing the chain. Has anyone seen a kit for an ironhead, and if not, do you think that buying one and "adjusting" it would be a huge waste of time?

To add a little bit more to the thread: I sold my 1998 XL1200S that I had purchased a wide tire kit for. My father passed away and had a perfect 7K mile orig black '83 XLX ironhead. So I sold the Sporty Sport, which by the way hauled ***, and took possession of the XLX, and now I'm adding my own touches to it to modern it up a little.

Thanks for reading my first post on this forum and hope to hear someiea from y'all !

i run a set of offset sprockets (3/16) anymore and you have to do grinding inside the cover, the chain guard wouldnt fit, just to much to try to change, and all i can fit is a 140, and it just fits any more would be a real tight fit in the swing arm, i have seen wide swingarm kits but im not sure what has to be done to the chain cover, i have a late 84 now, i have had this set up on a 83 also, same results
