T-Ron,
What happened was I bought the Santee frame for early Ironheads,57-76.
It came with the 7/8" neck,Then, without thinking I bought the custom wide glide front end..get home with this stuff then figured out what I did(I'm old)
So,rather than take back the front end,I used a 1" reamer and made the front fit...The Santee has plenty meat to do this,a stock frame I dont know.Thats better left for experts to decide..I aint one! But I think theres cups You can buy to use a 1" front using the 7/8" neck.I will google it to see what I can find.
i went out and checked my bottle of harley fork oil, it only says type "e" on it, was told by the local dealer it was the heavier oil, does not say what wt it is

billetwerx makes the conversion cups they allow you to use the later 1" stems on the earlier 7/8 necks. just bought a set fast shipping great guys to deal with http://www.billetwerx.com/

I think the two HD oils are 5W and 15W. If the "e" is the heavier one then it is the 15w.
Using the billet werks cups was part of the plan but I think my plan is changing. Might end up with a frame and a new front end to go along with it. Still doing the research. We shall see!
