Default Winter is upon us..

Well winter is on its way guys.. (here in PA)

We're still gettin nice days though so thats a plus. I JUST ordered my CV carb adapter. CV carb is at my buddy's house along with a super deluxe jet kit with multiple jets. We've already hopped up the slide for quicker response. Also, i ordered NEW intake seals. (not rubber, they're viton?) i also have a new set of chrome exhaust clamps N seals on order for the drag pipes. (Lolipops are made also)

souds like alot, but really aint i guess. lol easly done in a day or so, minus the jettin and plug chopping. So all in all, once i'm done, the ironhead oughta run and respond much better!! :-D

Come income tax season, i plan on gettin new rubber for it, along with caliper bushings. (those things are XPENSIVE!!) lol cant find none on egay so guess ill haveta order through local shop.

Anyhow, ill take some pictures and post em. sure yinz will enjoy our drunken adventure! and if i run into problems, ill be sure to ask! lol

Tell me about the caliper bushings. Are they the ones that actually fit into the fork? Is this to quiet down the rattle when you apply the brake? Might need to do this myself.

Well the rear caliper needs the bushings. i think the front calipers need new bolts actually after further investigation. Yes the rattle when riding and actually make a POP noise upon slowing to a stop. The whole damn front end rattles insanely at an idle (IMAGINE THAT..HA..who woulda thought huh? lol) Fender, calipers. the harmonic rattlign drives a guy nuts! lol so yah imma replace the bolts and HOPEFULLY solve this issue. ALONG WITH, peening the rivits to quiet them up!

As for the top end..(which is buggin me big time) i may just keep on dumpin oil in it. Might prevent it from leaking oil...lol

Hey mick, gotta question for ya..earlier i saw a picture of an ironhead that had an oil line running from one rocker box to the other (via the 1/8npt plug holes that face each other) Any benefits of doing that??

i like the looks of it (not to mention the neato aftermarket oil lines ya can get that are bent into oddball shapes) Was just curious if it had any advantages of connecting the two rocker boxes mainly.

On another note, i read the thread about the dude who lives up in finland (sephixl) who Strips his tank, and laquers it..i thought about hittin fenders, tank, and other painted sheet metal with a grinder (puttin swirls and swish's in it) and then clear coating it..Thought that'd look Coooooool! not to mention, match the chrome kinda!

I have seen one or two bikes on these forums that were cleared over bare metal. I really like the look and am considering it for some future project.

I have not heard of that particular oil line before - could be cool. I have seen a technique to split the rocker covers and use joining oil lines. You might find some pics if you Google Split Rocker Boxes. Here's one search result ...

Hey hey hey, question for the CV carb guys.. Do they make a choke that screws in place of the enrichener cable? (like on the super e carbs n stuff?) Be nice to have a ncie little pull **** rather then run a cable and make a mount (or buy one for 30 freakin dollars..ouch!)

just curious before i buy another enrichner cable, (just incase i cant make the one i just hakced up, work). lol
