I just bought an S&S Knucklehead and would like to go with a Baker 6 into 4 transmission.
Any recommendations on the
1. if this is the best tranny to use with this engine
2. I'd like an open chain primary, what works with this engine/transmission set up?
I contacted S&S but they are not that great at after sale customer service, I can't get through to them.
3 - clearly you have 70 75 mph plans long distance - the knuckle is a weak unit why did i say that - the oiling system is not up to the later engine designs - pan and shovel
note - knuckles were built before any real hi way system was in place in the USA - dirt roads were what the new overhead valve 1936 knuckle rode on most of its life
As I said, it's an S&S Performance Knucklehead.....the KN93, so it's not too weak. It's also new. 93 cubic inches. Best of both worlds, I get to look at a knuckle but not deal with a knuckle. Got my Baker 6 into 4 this week. Think I'm going to hook them up with the Paul ***/Cycle tech 530 chain open primary.
