Im picking up a batch of oem knuckle stuff tomorrow. Rocker boxes, heads, cam covers and so on. In the batch is an STD case plus what I assume is very nice repop knuckle cases, oem oil pumps, lifter blocks etc. Along with the std case is what he referred to as a big bore kit which has H beam rods and billet barrels.
Here are the barrels and rods, can anyone tell me anything about them? Make? Quality? Application?
Those jugs never worked street use as they got too hot - the rods were Dixie import copy of Carrillo rods - nope
the knuckle dash could be a copy maybe cant tell the definition in it with no angles also the side screw hole is at the wrong angle
the knuckle heads have had seats put in them and looks to be a good job as they were used after that - usually stupid people back a ways would then port them and it looks like they were left alone - AND the diving boards are in tact the effen morons were not involved WOW COOL THING THAT IS — they chrome rocker boxes were really polish and they removed a bit more of the metal then i like
Just got back with the parts. The rocker boxes are not chromed, they're polished. Some are pre-38, others are late 30's and early 40's. None that are correct for my 46 but Im not complaining.
The cam covers are 3 knuckle and one late 48 pan with the solid cast oil line hole.
This single rocker box has no casting date and no bosses around the oil fitting holes like the 1938 version. I can't find anything that discusses that detail. Its 36 to before may 38 though.
