M8 (2017 RGU) was in for 1000 mile service. A EMC flash was done.
Before
Calibration 41000481A
After
Calibration 41000481B
note: do not install on air cooled models. Do not install on those that have been raced tuned or have SE performance parts.
It was light snow and 28 degrees on the ride home so I did not try to see if there was any performance differences.
confused here..you had the HD dealership use a Street Tuner to calibrate your ECM on your water cooled 107, because you have what modifications?
the before calibration references...OEM?
the after (recalibration) references Stage....???? non SE performance parts means ones flagged in the catalog that don't have the Green Light?
Sometimes Harley will come out with ECM updates - just like any other software. Doesn't necessarily have anything to do with performance enhancements. Usually it's just minor bug fixes. The before and after calibration numbers will sometimes be included on your service invoice if you have any service done by a dealership (and some authorized independents).

I'm just not understand what all this means
No, bike went in for 1000 mile service. It has no engine mods done to it. There was a factory ECM flash update for it. I put this out because many do not take their bikes in and may wish to research it. When dealing with an M8 forget the past. New engine new rules new way of doing some things.
This calibration had nothing to do with Mod's. It just noted that if the bike had a race tune or SE parts not to use the update. there may well be a different one for them.
It is not uncommon when new models hit the street for HD to offer minor ECM updates to improve things or solve minor issue that have come up for some riders.
thanks..never been told before on any of my bikes it had been updated after leaving from service...so guessing my Stg 1 recalibration the other day was current and they would have made other updates if necessary..hope so anyway..I did have them do a DT update to have the passing lamps stay on with the high beams..thanks

That is interesting. Passing lights aka ditch lights on with high beams is a traffic violation in most states. that is why they don't come that way.

yup, which is why you just have to use discretion when flipping the switch...I had the jumper added to my 2013 with Daymakers...when riding in the desert in pitch black, and up on Orcas Island pitch black with a bazillion deer everywhere...looks like I turned on Stadium lights! they broadcasted way to the sides as well and I really appreciated having them
My guess is update to 950 RPM.Check Your idle speed.I think every M8 that goes in for service will be updated.
well it's off and on rain today but now too curious so going for a ride to see...didn't noticed the idle but wasn't aware it may have been updated until now
