I installed the high flow AC today, already had RC slip on's. The service manager said he would run the bike for a few days before I put the tuner on and see how it runs. It was a very noticeable improvement, I could feel it as soon as I pulled onto the road, it is running great! Zero decel popping just running better. After a lot of hesitation I had decided to go ahead and put the street tuner on but now it seems to be running so good and no signs of being too lean, I'm back at square one. An earlier post someone said they did the same as me and then put the street tuner on and it ran worse so he went back and had the dealer flash back to stock. I don't want to get disappointed like that. All this Harley crap is mind boggling!

so haven't bought the street tuner yet?..I think the one report here about the calibration not working was the exception not the rule..I did the Stage 1 calibration with SE intake and mufflers and mine runs great..
"I could feel it as soon as I pulled onto the road, it is running great!" I'd consider long term...what about pouring the coals to it 4 months from now in 90 degree heat up a mountain
it's up to you...trust the engine manufacturers statement or everyone else's..your bike, your warranty, your risk, your money..good luck!
"You must recalibrate the ECM when installing this kit. Failure to properly recalibrate the ECM can result in severe engine damage"
I may still get it to be on the safe side. I went back and talked to the service manager and the motor builder/dyno guy. Told them how good it was running and they said they new it would run fine. I asked the dyno guy to be honest and tell me what to expect if I put the tuner on, he kinda chuckled and said "nothing" he said realistically the only benefit I will get will be slightly better fuel economy, that's it. Might run it a week and try the tuner, so hope I make the right call and not **** away $300 for tuner and $50 for him to install only to see "nothing"
Interesting. I'm hearing more and more positive reviews of AC + slip-ons w/no tuner. Seems unimaginable as it was absolutely necessary with the TC's, but from the reports (maybe a hand full?) I'm hearing the M8's will run just fine w/o a tune. Please keep us informed. More than curious how things go long term.
Pulled the cover back off after riding this afternoon (to put the new emblem on) and noticed some oil puddled in the bottom of filter, seemed like more than should have been there. More was in there after one ride than was in the stock filter after 5000 miles. Any thoughts?

yeah, they are pukers but working as designed..just an unfortunate by-product of the design..the OEM breathers are a small diameter 2 into 1 whereas the Hi Flow has 2 separate larger diameter hoses puking..I noticed that the OEM tubes clog pretty easily
I believe things will change with higher summer temps.
The O2s do not affect high load/rpm areas?.
Adding airflow without additional fuel equals lean and hot.
Lean and hot equals elevated combustion temperatures.
When combustion temps rise that creates detonation knock or ping.
The system is smart enough to retard the timing when it detects knock.
Retarded timing is necessary but also kills power.
So go ahead, add an air cleaner and freeflowing exhaust, then fill 'er up with your favorite 87 octane and enjoy...
