First hot day here and the 2017 Street Glide ran like a top but I was surprised by the amount of heat it creates. The wife said she wants to go back to riding the 2000 Fat Boy on hot days which surprised me considering all the upside the SG has for the passenger
I have heard removing the cat and a good tune will help but how much? Yeah, I know you cant quantify it but is it worth the $$ just for the heat reduction ( I know there are other benefits)? I didn't mind the heat really but if it makes a substantial improvement for the passenger I will ramp up the efforts to make the changes.
if main concern is passenger comfort then if it were me, I'd add the HD Coolflow Fan and mid frame deflectors before I spent big bucks on exhaust and throwing my powertrain warranty out the window
The problem is that the cat is right under the passenger foot board. My fiance has said the same thing about the heat on her right boot. I was trying to wait for the warranty to expire before changing out the header. We will see as the warmer weather comes.

That new Fuel Moto head-pipe is the bomb. Well worth the money IMO. Although I do understand the warranty concern, I'm really glad I did the pipe, PV tuner and Dyno. Major difference and really reduced the heat thing.
I don't understand all the talk about the Heat from the M8's, especially from those who rode Twin Cams before getting an M8... Mine is a Waterhead but has really surprised me, rode 2up on several days when air temps were 77*-79*, but only couple of days around 82* so far... I've got 1300 miles on it and not so much as the first Ping in the motor and even the wife commented on it not being anything like our Ultra was at first. For now I'm happy with leaving the Cat headpipe on till the warranty is up...
