I would call the Dealer service department before cutting that 6 pin plug!
I just went and looked at my 2017 SGS the 6 pin connector is GRAY, mounted directly above the GRAY 6 pin is a BLACK 4 pin connector I think this is the accessory connector but am not totally sure

2017 accessory plug is under right side cover. You will need the proper accessory extension harness from MOCO. If you are just using the plug you do not have to use the battery (B+) wire or put the pin in the molex, etc. That is only to make the tree single wires live power. (Grips, etc.) IOW if only doing a heated seat, just plug & play.

Some different options then !
On my bike there is no accessory connection plug on the rhs, also there are no accessory plugs in front of the battery & the connector that the service manual relates to is deifinately a 6 pin that I have used for my power vision whilst uploading a new map !
The only option I did come up with is this which would appear to provide the solution ??

As a temporary measure I used the 2 pin connector for the battery tender which was already on the bike. I have a different optimate connector wired to the battery for charging.
