Default 4 pin accessory plug

Have they changed them on the M8 Road Kings ? The one located behind the left hand side cover is a 6 pin connector, I've looked through the service manual & can only find reference to this location ? Alternatively is there an adaptor available from the 4-6 pin ?

12.
2017 and later Touring Models: Install harness 69201599. Reference the instruction included with kit.
a. See Figure 3. Cut off six pin connector (A).
b. Strip .375 in (9.5 mm) of insulation from each wire on harness (B).
c. Splice harness 69201599 with sealed splices provided in kit.
d. Crimp wires BLACK to BLACK and RED to VIOLET/BLUE. See the service manual appendix. Match the color of the connector with the color of the crimp cavity of the Crimp Tool (Part No. H-D 38125-8). Crimp the connector to both wires with the Crimp Tool.
e. Using the Ultratorch UT-100 (H-D 39969), Robinair Heat Gun (H-D 25070) with Heatshrink Attachment (H-D 41183), or other suitable radiant heating device, heat the crimped splice to encapsulate the splice connection. Apply heat from the center of the crimp out to each end until the meltable sealant exudes out of both ends of the connector. Let the connector cool.
13. All Other Models: See Figure 3. Remove dust cover from accessory connector. Plug the 12 volt connector into six-pin connector (A).
14. Secure harness (B) with cable straps (3). Extra or loose harness (B) can be coiled securing with cable straps
15. Install the side cover. See the service manual.
16. Install fuel tank. See the service manual.
17. Install seat. See the service manual. After installing seat, pull up on the seat to verify that it is secure.

These are the instruction for installing the handle bar mounted kit.

It appears that you have to rewire the connector on the bike(6pin) to match the connecter on the auxiliary port.

Hope this helps.

I would call the Dealer service department before cutting that 6 pin plug!

I just went and looked at my 2017 SGS the 6 pin connector is GRAY, mounted directly above the GRAY 6 pin is a BLACK 4 pin connector I think this is the accessory connector but am not totally sure

I got a harness that was designed for the tour pack speakers and cut that plug to fit the 6 pin connector. It took me a while and several dealers to find it. They actually gave me the harness

2017 accessory plug is under right side cover. You will need the proper accessory extension harness from MOCO. If you are just using the plug you do not have to use the battery (B+) wire or put the pin in the molex, etc. That is only to make the tree single wires live power. (Grips, etc.) IOW if only doing a heated seat, just plug & play.

Some different options then !

On my bike there is no accessory connection plug on the rhs, also there are no accessory plugs in front of the battery & the connector that the service manual relates to is deifinately a 6 pin that I have used for my power vision whilst uploading a new map !

The only option I did come up with is this which would appear to provide the solution ??

As a temporary measure I used the 2 pin connector for the battery tender which was already on the bike. I have a different optimate connector wired to the battery for charging.
