Default Stage 2 SE torque cam question

Based on what I have read (unless I missed something)

It seems as though the SE torque cam (while not having much overlap) does provide better torque down low - which is what I am looking for vs the after market cams so far that seem to produce the power mid to upper range from what I have seen / read.

Does having a SE torque cam create any issues for my engine.

I keep reading about some M8 owners saying they don't want to break the seal.

I'm still new to this stuff - so take it easy.. Looking for helpful info here.

is adding a cam hard on the engine or prone to additional issues or is it a pretty easy procedure if done by Harley Tech to be pretty straight forward with no major risk issues?

I would like a little extra torque down low - especially for 2 up riding with my wife (shes only 118 llbs) so not too much extra weight .. but I can still feel the difference vs solo riding

and the additional lope sound would be nice.

So any reason you wouldn't add the tq cam ?

Thanks in advance

From all my research so far the CR-460 cam....

I'm not sure about a 114 , 117, or 120 M8 build but the CR-460 cam seems to be by far the best option a 107....

The biggest thing I see with this motor is over exhausting and loosing torque below 2.5k with a 107.

do you already have a Stage 1? if not go for it first since you would need it any way and see what you think..re: "I would like a little extra torque down low" I got a significant boost with the SE Stage 1 dyno tuned..106 tq at 3K rpms..it's awesome..might be enough for you to not break the seal or have to break open your wallet any further..good luck

Yes.. I have stage 1 as

Rinehart slimline duals
Rinehart 4" slipons
SE Ventilator A.C.
Powervision Tune

plenty of power.. especially as a solo rider.. but a lil more oomph with my wife on the back and a lopey sound from the exhaust would def be a plus.. but not necessary ..

I can always hold off.. bars and solo seat are next for me.. however I sed have an interest in stage 2 as long as there are no serious risk with breaking the seal.

cool, I've done cams twice without issue, as well as countless others and that's where the rubber really starts hitting the road as far as performance gains...each Stage adds addt'l risk as far as I'm concerned but with a truly experienced competent installer and tuner the risks are mitigated significantly..these days I'm of the less is more mentality...mine works plenty good for me so leaving well enough alone..since you've already made the decision to use aftermarket engine performance components thus far and voided your warranty you may as well just roll the dice and get what you want and hope for the best...good luck

Cam is no biggie as far as "breaking the seal" easy to do on your own. I saw a nice gain down low on my '09 but haven't seen any great charts for cams on the M8 yet. I'm happy with fuelmoto stage 1.5 and gonna wait and see on the cams.

I've ordered the torque cam for mine.

The SE cam will give you a bit more bottom end (they say 5%) but I think the real benefit is the way it stretches the torque curve out.

Im not concerned about the install, they cut out the pushrods so they don't have to open the rocker boxes.

I've got that cam in my stage 3. Comes on around 2,500, keeps pulling until 4,500. Valve train is not any noisier, does have a little lope to it.

Steve, I'd be interested in your cam. I'm just over the hill from you in Richlands. I have a bunch of questions you could probably answer.
