Posted here last fall about my '17 RGU with 2700 miles and the "check oil" notification reading and the oil pressure warning light were both on. Had it towed to the dealer (about 50 miles out) and after a week or so of hand wringing and confusion, the dealer and HD determined it was the sensor. Replaced and all was well . . . love this bike!
Was in IL (400 miles from home), 7000 miles on the bike and noticed the oil pressure warning light was on after a stop and the screen showing the "Oil OK" or "Check Oil" read: "- - -" WTF? - never saw that one before! What the heck is "---"?
No top end noise, no temp rise, other weird happenings - so I continued to ride to where I was staying. Shut the bike down, waited a minute, restarted and all is well. Oil level was good on the dipstick. Rode back home yesterday after a couple stops and no further lights/warnings/---/etc.
Did I mention I love this damn bike? 38 years of owning Harleys and this is my favorite. I don't even feel like taking it to the dealer as I know they are going to say, "Wow, never heard of this! Our service tech can't replicate the failure or condition, so please let us know if it happens again." Will bet a buck that's the response instead of just replacing the damn sensor again.
Anyone here experienced, or heard of 2 sensor failures? When my first sensor failed 4300 miles ago, it intermittently went dead a couple times before complete sensor failure.
in fact, if you change your own oil, might not be a bad idea. This way you can check the oil drain plug, open up the oil filter and check both for metal shavings.

mine did this a few days ago. I pulled over and shut it down. started it right back up and the problem went bye bye. haven't had the problem in a few days of riding. Like yours everything checked out fine oil, temp etc
My light came on over the weekend. Pulled over and checked oil level it was fine. I checked my DTC codes and got P0522 which is an obdc II code for oil sensor. This code is not listed in the Fuel Moto list. After clearing it the oil light did not come back on again. A good guess is it's probably the sensor, because I had thrown this code before BUT the oil light never came on. I'm doing the 5k service soon with Amsoil and will monitor. On the day the oil light came on the temp gauge read 285*; was a 95* day in South Florida.
