Which warranty did you choose, and how much did it cost?

I got the 5 year unlimited mileage extended warranty. I double checked before I signed that it was UNLIMITED mileage because I plan on putting a ton of miles on this thing. I was putting 10,000 per year on my Star and really needed something a little bigger to be able to put more on riding farther and more often. I think the warranty made a difference of something like $25 per month on the payment, not bad for some peace of mind until it's paid off.

Not bad! At 60 or 72 months that's only $1500-$1800. Is it the Harley warranty or third party?

I would take my 14 FLHTK back. Nothing but issues with my 17 limited.

I put about 12k-15k miles on my bike per year. If it breaks after 2 years I'll fix it. I wrench my own bikes. I expect to be riding and not wrenching on this one 11,483 miles so far no problems. Bought the bike end of September, build date 8/16.

Great! And you'll be paying for the parts, and the tow, and the rental bike if you're out of town.

To each their own, eh?

No, I mean ESP for five years... first two are just the towing and loaner bike, but yes effectively three additional years of actual warranty.

Actually Dan, there are a couple of definitions for postmortem: You are correct for the definition, but the second is: an analysis or discussion of an event held soon after it has occurred, especially in order to determine why it was a failure.

This is dDavid way of being cute with word play. I digress though, the poor man is at odds with himself trying to decide if and when he will pull the trigger on buying a Harley, M8. Im not sure I care for the use of the word postmortem when talking about the M8, I think its a great motor, on a great bike.......
