HMMM? Get my money back for my new limited? Simple answer... NO way.
I added the extended service plan. If there are any problems they can fix it. Oh yeah, I do have a problem. The rear speaker has a popping noise. I talked to the dealer and they said no problem. Bring it in if it is bothering you or wait til winter and we will deal with it and anything else that comes up.

You already know the answers. If calling me a troll makes you feel better, go for it.

I know that a lot of owners have had issues and I wonder how many people would like to just take their marbles and go home, assuming they could get all their marbles back. (some people have lost theirs over M8 "idiosyncrasies")
LOVE MY 2017 SGS. this bike is f'ing fast and smooth.

No way I would go back. And I was originally wanting to trade my Heritage for a leftover 2016 SGS. Boy am I glad I didn't do that.

M8 is great!

Postmortem literally means "after death". Very strange way to prejusticely jaundice a discussion of motorcycle failure analysis. FWIW, I think you are being completely disingenuous in your motivations. That being said, you are seeking guidance, here is mine: get the dang Goldwing and move on with life. It is one of the best bikes ever made, smooth, reliable, capable. You can't go wrong and will not regret it. Personally, if I had any problem with my RGS it is that life means that I cannot use it to its capabilities. As such, right now, a Honda Rebel would serve me just as well. But that is not an issue with the bike but with the user/owner. By the way, a user's forum is a self selecting data source and possibly the worst possible way to conduct reliability research.

Waiting for an 18 is ano brainer. The 17's will be cheaper then. Good luck whatever you do, but I'd have some confidence that the vast majority of M8's are functioning normally.
Thanks, Dan! I appreciate you sharing your experience.

I'm really looking forward to getting another bike, and I hope my experience is similar to yours and many others who've posted here.

Wasamatawichu man!, "Silver Bullet" is in my garage, oh wait, maybe we call that one the "Rogue Glide", I can't remember, too busy riding it.
Actually it's the Silver bike, it's parked right next to the Black bike, and behind the Red bike.

I agree though, damn nice bike, 10k miles and counting.

Thank you, I am aware of the meaning of post-mortem. That's why the term is used at the end of a project to summarize its successes and failures.

Ignoring your other comments, I'll address your "self selecting data" remark. That is why I phrased the question the way I did, to distill down to "would you, or would you not undo your M8 purchase" Many things in life are frustrating, but when you think about it, you'd do it again. Some you wouldn't.

I think people's answers have helped me cut through reading thousands of pages of issues and complaints. I am hearing that most of the posters would still buy their Milwaukee 8, in spite of the issues they've experienced. That says a lot to me.

Also, my entire source of owner/user data comes from this forum. I am not being scientific, I'm simply trying to process and weigh the data I'm seeing in members posts. I already ignore the super angry posts and the super fan-boy posts. I appreciate people's opinions on the go/no go question.

Sorry if you didn't find this helpful or question my "motivation."

I made the decision to purchase a 17 RKS. Couldn't be happier with my decision. I still have my 15 RGS. If Harley produces an 18 CVO RG Custom I will trade my 15 for the new CVO RG and I will mod the bejeezus out of it like I did my 15 RG. The new bikes are awesome!
