The Stage lll kit was first installed, then when FM released the 2-1-2 head pipe for M8, I installed. Adding the head pipe certainly improved the sound and a slight gain in throttle response. (Mind you it was just a PV Map on the bike, it was not dyno'd at the time) The service mgr even said the seat of the pants performance improved. Sound, after the initial 1000 mile break in w the Street Cannons, they truly change in sound for the better, the header just made it sound even better. Lastly was the WM8-222 cam and dyno'd the bike, sounds awesome and major gains in HP & TQ. from 115/123 to 123/131 and a slight lope in the idle which is nice
Is anyone running this header with stock/OE mufflers?
I was running this on my wifes Freewheeler w Stock slip-ons, had the stock slip-ons redone by American Customs (https://americancustom.com/) and it made a huge difference. The factory slip-ons will hold it back.

I mostly want to do it for heat, and I'm not interested in new mufflers this time around. I ride with a headset on and I don't really want this bike to be loud.

So this is a lower cost head pipe, steel? Design and different than SS?

Yes, this is a lower cost option over our Jackpot stainless 2/1/2. It is constructed from mild steel and the merge collector is formed a bit differently.
For those interested we just released a sale offering $50.00 off the Jackpot M8 2/1/2 SP head pipes
