All cvo parts are protected by the vin number. Anything I order from the dealer that is specific to the cvo I have to provide my vin...you can get around that by looking on ebay or elsewhere for it...some people take things off and sell them.

 

Usually just for painted parts. The rest of the stuff can be had with a part number.

after i got my cvo I had to order the original backrest bar and matching pad that wasn't with the bike...guess what I needed ??? Yup vin number. I might be wrong about it but I'm pretty sure I was told this is how hd protects the guy who just spent 40k on bike from seeing someone put together a bogus cvo. Maybe I'm wrong but I 100 percent had provide my vin for parts that are
