The design is good. Just HD is a laggy *** backwards company. The M8 is what the EVO should have been. There are members that have some of the first M8's made and are as happy as can be with no issues. Then some of us got screwed. It's down to how the suppliers are running and how the labor is doing. If your junk was built during or just past a lay off you have junk. If a supplier had labor issues you have junk. If the MoCo and suppliers had a good production run with no random drug test being done you get a bike as the boffins designed it.
It's a straight up crap shoot! If you want the scooter get it. If your gut is even whispering at you don't. BUT if you get a good M8 it will the best HD you have ever owned in your life. If you get a junker you will be shocked at what it's scrap value is.

I have total empathy for the folks who trusted the MoCo to sell them a quality product. YOU'RE the one who came up with the "punks'" thing, not me.
All I ever comment on negatively is the MoCo, the way it treats its loyal customers and its BS policies.
Seems to me like a lot of people here define themselves solely according to their material possessions. It's like if I say something negative about the MoCo, they take that as a personal attack on themselves. Weird. I don't really get that, but that's just me.
Honestly, commenting on the pure BS coming out of the MoCo doesn't detract from the honor or integrity of the people who buy their products, and that's never been my intent.
Like it or not, I'm not putting down the owners who are having trouble (or not, for that matter.), just the crap they have to put up with.
Those are the facts, take 'em or leave 'em.
