Oil quantity
Thank you for the replies everyone. l. My owners manual that came with the bike says start with 4.0qts. The 2017 owners service manual that I just got says 4qts also. My last bike a 2010 SG said 4qts and went right to the mark with 4qts. I only check my oil hot and have done 500 miles since adding the 0.5qt. No overflow or excess fluid anywhere. I just wanted to see what you all have experienced since I know that each engine can have its own personality. Thank you again for the wealth of knowledge.

I've only done one oil change on my Limited so far, with the next one coming next week. At the initial change it took 4 3/4 qts. to bring the level to 2-3 dots down from full, which is where I set it cold. When it gets hot it is right at the full mark.
The 2-3 dot difference between hot and cold is from my experience with my previous bike and this one seems the same.
