Is there something special about the M8 air cleaner?
The part of my '17 RK that I find least visually appealing is the air cleaner. To my eye, the ugliest piece on a new Harley since my '84 Shovel "ham can."
Does anyone know whether an earlier model cleaner can be used without trouble? I like the round black cleaners on Softails of a few years ago. I'd like to put a cleaner from an '18 Softail 107 on it, but I haven't found one yet.
If you love the look of your '17-18 touring A/C, that's great. If you have a 107 Softail cleaner you want to sell, let me know.

I agree. I ordered an 18' SGS and was planning on riding it completely stock for the first year, but I can't get past the size of the original air cleaner. It covers up way to much of the motor. I'm going to have to spend money on a tuner I know I won't use once I the warranty is gone just so I can keep the warranty intact and get a screamin eagle intake to replace that monstrosity. $500 just to replace one ugly part.
I am eagerly waiting to see what a/c cover options will be available for the ‘18 Deluxe. I have a Nostalgic chrome cover that I bought for my ‘17 Slim, but I’m hoping I can use it with an ‘18 Stage 1 kit. Or, Harley makes something like it for the new Deluxe.
I think it looks ok after getting rid of the screen and black tupperware. I put the HD high flow kit on and it looks 100 times better with just the stock cover by itself.
