Hey all, hoping someone here knows the answer. I am looking at some aftermarket pushrod cover pieces. The manufacturer says the pushrod cover keepers will work on everything from a 1936 Knuckle to a '99 EVO, and they list two models for the Twin Cam (1.75" or 2 9/16").
Additionally they have some pushrod tube spring collars that they say will work on Big Twins from 1936-current.
Anyone know if these will work on an M8? Thanks for any insight.

The keepers for the stock TwinCam 88 will work with the stock tubes for the M8. If you have bought quick install pushrods from SE or S&S you will probably need the ones for TwinCam 88 quick install kits. The spring collars have only changed twice since 1936 and I don't think it was recently.
Yes I have the adjustable pushrods from the M8 Stage II upgrade kit. Glad to hear the collars are the same! I will check with them on the keepers, but I'm glad to hear that there is a part that should be compatible. Thanks!
Okay, here's the follow-up for anyone else interested in this.
The lower pushrod tubes are compatible between the TC and the M8. And so are the spring collars. The upper keepers are not, they're not the same length.
The adjustable pushrod covers are not compatible with the non-adjustables. But I was replacing the lower covers on my M8 and the kit Harley sells (in black) was $100, including lowers, collars, and upper keepers. The kit for the TC was $69, and it didn't have collars, it included lower covers and keepers. Since I wasn't using the keepers from the kit, the TC kit saved $30 and the lowers were fully compatible.
Wrong way around! Lower M8 Part number 25701000 : Upper is original part 17948-99
All other parts identical to twincam, save for Pushrods, anti rotation device and lifter covers.

Just completed a stage 2 on my 2017 RGU. (CR 460 cam, CR lifters, latest and greatest HD oil pump "Jan 10, 2018 build date"). I had a set of adjustable SE pushrods (not quick install) and talked to greg at smiths. He told me based on my measurements he thought they would be fine. I had read before that the m8 and tc rods are interchangeable. BUT sometimes you have to remove the lifter blocks to get the pushrods into position. This happens with some of the others also. When i ordered my stuff from Cycle Rama they told me I would need lifter block gaskets. Everything worked fine and I reused something I had instead of just buying more.. I used a canned tune for a "similar" cam and took it for a test ride and was I pleased! I hit second a little hard and laid a little patch! I did not expect it to run that good without it being tuned.. April 7 will get it tuned properly. The good tuners are rare and busy! Good luck with your project. Max

Youre making the same mistake I made when I first advised him, looking at the stock parts.
The S&S tubes and I would assume the SE tubes come with the lowers from the EVOs and I think Shovelhead. The spring collars are the same forever. The upper tubes are different as is the length of the keepers. I think the whole thing is shorter than the TC.
Yes, keep in mind I'm talking about the adjustable pushrod kit, not the stock kit. In the adjustable kit, the lower covers are the same between the TC and the M8, and so are the collars. The keepers are different sizes.

S&S sells the keepers separately. If you have a pushrod tube set from a TC it will work with the keepers. You might have to trim the upper tubes for length.
