Default Bending Valve front Shocks

Considering fitting the higher Ultra Emulsion shocks to my M8 SGS, for a more comfortable ride.
Sure I will have to lift the front as well but after two years all model parts lists
still feature the antiquated standard setup, which is not used anymore.
Any ideas where I can get a visual of the difference on the short & long internals for a parts swop?

Why not just get some quality fork shocks? Your getting rid of dogshit to replace it with higher dogshit... You can get some Progressive Monotubes and have the ability to adjust the height during installation.

I have a set of the new Progressive Mono Tubes on order for my new bike... IMO they are a "must have."

I only changed the fluids, this time I took them off and went through the whole shebang.

There is no difference in the front ends between the SGS and the Ultra. They are the same part number and length. A one inch longer shock won't in most cases noticeably effect the handling of your bike.

The stock shocks are around $500 retail. I am sure that you can find them used, but the shocks from years preceding 2017 don't work as well as the later model shocks. To be honest, I would spend the extra money and get Ohlins. I put a set of 772's on my 2015 and they are definitely worth the money.

Ohlins also makes cartridge inserts that replace the internals on the stock forks. They are a little pricey, but a good ride. I would probably try changing the fork oil on the stock forks to a 10w before spending a lot of money on aftermarket. Harley did redesign the internals on the 2017 touring bikes and they seem to work better than before.

If you want to look at parts go to: www.dodgecityharleydavidson.com and look at OEM parts.

Like I told you though, the Ultra and the SGS share the same front end, no difference in length.
