Cycle Rama had a black Friday deal on a 124 kit. It was tempting.

This is big boy toys area and not for the average guy who finances a bike or worries about warranties.

Just my 2 cents
Well, in 2012 I bought a new CVO King. I was not worried about warranty as I knew the 110 motor issues, Lifters. I do worry about longevity of the motor, and being able to ride the bike on trips. I put 1400 miles on the bike in 72 hours, had it in for its first service. Rode it home and built the motor. This was before the 117 cylinders were available. I did build it to 121 HP and 124 torque. Rode it to Key West, Rode it to Apostle Islands in WI. Bike ran great and was reliable, got better mpg than stock.

HD came out with the 117 kit, looked at it, but with the low compression I did not think it would make much more torque than I had. So I bought the cylinders, Had CP make 11.4 compression pistons. Selected a woods cam. Built the bike again. Now 138.5 HP and 140 torque. Have since rode it to FL and to MI. Reliable, and better mpg than stock. Have over 23K on it. I expect about 40K I will do the lifters for insurance, but trust the motor for many more miles than that.

When I know the M8 sumping issue is solved for good, I will most likely do something like this hillside build. A good strong motor, I can ride cross country on. In its current form I will not take my King west of the Mississippi due to compression. However that Hillside build could go anywhere. I will do that to an M8 when I see the 19's cured the sumping.

I ride my bike, but like good torque low down. Since 2011 I have averaged 24 K a year. Reliable is important.
