Hey Guys,
I am reaching 1k and I know there is a recommended service. I called the dealer where I got my bike and to perform this service they are charging me $621.. This is my first Harley so I am not sure if this is normal but it seems high to me. There is another shop that is a bit cheaper but not sure if the first one has to be done with Harley or not. I am not the best mechanically so I do not trust myself to do this. I was contemplating to have the non Harley shop do this but not sure if the warranty will still stand. Any thoughts??
Part or most could and should have been negotiated in your buy. Mostly, it is little more then the MotherShip covering there butts just in case they missed the torque on a bolt and such.
They hide it in changing the oil and filter.
So they are making $600 profit on you. They are also like most car dealerships getting you in for the long ride of steady screwings.
The wanted RIP to bring in her Subie at 1000 miles for a free check.
Sounds like you need to take it in since they will scan it for loose bolts. Take it to who you trust. I would trust none of them but I would probably guess on the dealership. I would get a print out list of what they were going to do. Then I would stand in the door way and watch them. Report back what you see.
Add a signature line similar to mine on your bike. And welcome from Hampton Roads Virginia.

Does not compute. The time to drop all of the fluids and replace them, change oil filter, then check the torque on every bolt on the bike and the electrical functions would take all of 2 hours max. @ $125 p/hr that's $250 plus $100 in parts. $621 is a fleecing at its finest.
I was quoted 333 when I bought my bike. When I called to schedule they said $375. When I picked it up they said $450. Ended up paying $350. Everything is negotiable...because they want to charge as much as they can get away with. And, you don't have to have it done where you bought the bike. Call around.
