Question Replace pushrods for Stage III upgrade?

I have a stock 2018 Sport Glide that I want to upgrade to Screamin Eagle Stage III. I know I need to do the Stage I changes (AC/muffler/retune) first. Do I need to changeout the pushrods in addition to the parts contained in the Stage III Kit? That’s the word from the dealer.

You shouldn't need to unless the base circle is different than the stock cam. Typically pushrods are cut and replaced with adjustables to same time during a cam swap. Where you are doing a Stage3 you will be popping the heads and rockers and you can just drop the pushrods in.

No need to replace pushrods on a HD Stg III or Stg IV M8 kit the stock ones are fine. The problem comes from doing a Stg II as it takes more labor time to reuse the stock pushrods than the cost of new adjustable pushrods when doing the install, but the Stg III and IV require removing the heads anyways so the pushrods come right out at that point.

I had mine replaced when I did my stage III but only because I wanted the gloss black covers so I opted for the adjustable pushrods at the same time. It was not a requirement.

Installing adjustable pushrods is never required. But makes the Stg II more cost effective. Then everything after that the top end comes off anyway.

No you don't.The heads have to come off for the new Pistons,Cylinders and valve springs,Just keep the rods and followers in their same locations and orientation. All will be good. The Stage 111 offers the most bang for the $ in my book, enjoy!
