Hello, after seeing the new SE 55mm intake manifold Harley released it's got me thinking. Would there be any benefit in upgrading to this and keeping the stock throttle body on a stage 2 bike? I have also seen a few people changing out injectors.
No benefit,unless you go bigbore.
than it depends on what cam your using and compression you set it at.
if just a cam,the stock throttle body and injectors are plenty.
Thanks for the info guys. So no need for the manifold, what about the injectors?
not clear whether you currently have a stage 2 or considering doing one? if already have and you're very satisfied with how it performs overall I'd be inclined to want to leave well enough alone..if you're beginning the upgrade process are you considering SE or aftermarket? if the former probably just do the kit as prescribed, if the latter probably want to tap into the knowledge, expertise and experience of the product experts here and work with them on a proven package that compliments your intended use, riding style, goals and objectives
We will get a little more from the new SE 55mm intake manifold but how much I don't know . The Mothership free Enterprise believes there's a bottleneck at the inlet manifold and can make a little TQ/HP with this inlet manifold, with a ported stock TB it would make an improvement over just the new inlet manifold and the new manifold would be slightly better than stock.Incremental gains, cost effective probably not but I am going to get one and port the TB too.
Peace.
Multi valve heads are generally for high revving engines and gain max efficiency at 6000 to 16000 rpm a la Superbike.
My info is that they could not achieve better results than the dual valve until they shut the valves real early.
The heads actually over breathe so porting and upsizing the inlet aperture without a displacement increase and expert
tuning, could be detrimental.Even the Stage 111 does not require manifold or injector upgrade.Just increased my fuel flow.
Better to go with a Stage or expert tuning kit.Sure you can find the real experts on this forum.
