So I just traded in my '16 RGS for a '19 RGS, and purchased a set of Screaming Eagle Street Cannons 4.5 with slash end caps to install when I got the bike home. As i unboxed the cannons. I realized, to my surprise, that the baffles are not removable. On my '16, I had a set of V&H 3.5s with no baffles, and I liked the sound.
I have not installed them yet, but I am considering just returning them for something with more sound as I fear the baffled cannons will not give me enough. I guess my question is a two part:
1- Those of you with the 4.5 cannons, how do you like the sound? Is it deep and robust on accel?
2- What are the best choices in place of the cannons in the 4.5 family?

congrats on the new scoot!
shouldn't have been surprised, they have to meet noise level regulations so they aren't going to make it easy for folks to defeat that...
1- Those of you with the 4.5 cannons, how do you like the sound? Is it deep and robust on accel? I like mine but they sound tame at idle and more 'racy' under throttle than deep and rumbly
2- What are the best choices in place of the cannons in the 4.5 family? 'best' is subjective but if you do searches here you will find something that meets your objective

Congrats on the new bike.
I'm partial to the S&S MK45's myself. Good price, sound great, and have a deep rumble when you get on the throttle. There are some good reviews of the Magnaflow hitmans here as well. So many options and opinions. Like MJ said, Sound is subjective and what one person thinks sounds great, another may not like the sound.
Did the dealer not have bikes with different slip ons on the floor? That's how I made my choice.
Just know, you'll never get your new M8 to sound like your twincam. A good stage 2 will get some lope and a little more sound, but still not like the twin cams have.
I have the Magnaflows on my 19 SGS and they sound great. A buddy liked them so much he went and got a pair himself and thanks me every time he sees me for turning him on to those. I have another buddy with the S&S MK45's and those sound really good The difference is that the MF's are a bit deeper and don't get as loud when you twist the throttle.

What sound are you looking for, loud, deep, raspy, good options out there but need to know what tone you are looking for to provide an opinion.
bought 2017 road king with screaming eagle stage 3 with street cannons already on. A little quiet at idle but got aggressively louder with acceleration. Nice but I went with TAB zombie slip ons. really like them. Not overly loud at idle but can absolutely hear them when you roll the throttle. Kept street cannons if there is ever a motor problem I can put them back on for warranty sake.
I've had the S&S MK45's since buying the bike and upgraded last season to the fullsac mx pipe. That made it quite a bit deeper and after having the Stage 3 upgrade to 114 they sound even better. I've removed the db killers a couple times but it was just too loud in my opinion on the longer hwy rides I've taken to GA and TN recently. I actually cut them in half and have kept them in ever since. I really like the deep tone of the bike but if you upgrade to a different cam or engine upgrade it definitely makes a great improvement. I've got a couple coworkers with Tabs and zombie baffles but just not as deep sounding.
Always cool to see you guys taking the dB Reducers to the next level!

I went with the Arlen Ness Magnaflow Redlines, very happy. The S&S Mk45s were a very close second.
I have the Cannons and like them a lot. Theyre probably the quietest mufflers Ive heard besides the stock ones. This is why I like them so much. Look great but wont give me a drone headache on long trips or ruin my hearing.
