I've ridden both and notice more power from the 114, but not a night and day difference. Question is, would a Stage 1 on a 107 be equivalent to a stock 114 for power? Or would that require a Stage 2?
Lightngsvt, Not sure as I do not have a 114. But I do have a 107 Road King and for the money I would get the 107 and put a Stg. 2 on it (and that's what I did) No Cat, K&N and 22X cam with Power Vision (canned map) 101Hp and 111Tq!! Stock was 80Hp and 98Tq.... HUGE difference and for not much money. Just my opinion, your results may be different! Good luck, CSM-H

I was really impressed with a cammed 107 that I rode before trading my 2014 SGS for my 18 SGS. When I did buy the 18 and after the 500 miles break-in I became more impressed with the stock 107. However I knew I was going to have my 18 for a lot of years so I decided against just camming the 107 and went with the stage 3.
I see in your signature block that you must have sold a 2009 SG (that's what I rode before the 2014 SGS) after having it quite a few years. If you plan on keeping the new bike as long as you did the 2009 I think I'd go with the 114 to start with. Over the long haul you'd probably be happier. JMO

107 is great, but if you’re asking...I’d go 114. No hesitation.
More power, better performance 2-up, better with upgrades down the road, better resale.
I’ve also heard the 107 is gone next year.
I have a 114 Heritage with stage 2 which is great, but I’ve also ridden my wife’s Road King Special 114 which needs NOTHING in my opinion...it’s 100% the motor I’d want in any touring bike.
The 114 is a new animal sans the 2017 CVO One year 114, the longer stroke and slightly bigger bore enhance low end power. Stop reading and take one for a ride, you will be impressed. The 107's run excellent, the 114's run a little better. I am on my third one.
Ive ridden several stock 114s and love the way my dyno tuned stage 1 107 runs. Its no slouch in my lighter Road King but, those 114s were new so i didnt beat on them therefore inconclusive. They were smooth and gobs of torque throughout the power-band.. 114 really does seem like a fantastic touring engine right out of the box
Cool, thanks for the info. I'e got a bit of "new bike fever" for some reason, plus my buddy just got a new RGS so can't have him being faster! What the average cost of a Stage 2 installed at a dealer?
I have a stock 2019 114' FLHTP. I traded in my stage two 2017 107' FLHP. In my opinion, my stock 114' is stronger than my stage two 107" was (with SE parts and tuner- I understand there are much better stage two builds).
