I have a 2017 road king with stage 1. I am planning to upgrade to stage 3. My dealership has told me that I can simply purchase a stage 3 kit instead of both stage 2 and 3. Is that normal? If I listen to the parts staff and only purchase a stage 3, does it make my bike miss stage 2 (torque/power upgrade)?
Does anyone have experience with this type of upgrade- straight from stage 1 to 3?
Then do I not get charged for it? I am looking at the quote they have provided me, and the list of parts are only sprocket retention kit (cam drive), bearing (needle full complement), SE M8 Stage 3 kit (107->114CI), and TC96 spacer kit.
I am by no means complaining, but I am just wondering if Harley riders in general would save some money going straight from stage 1 to 3, without stopping at 2. (That is if the rider always planned to eventually upgrade to stage 3).

Then I think you need to clarify with them what they are doing, as the bigger pots (Stage 3) will demand a different Cam to what you have at Stage 1. People go from Stage 1 to Stage 3,4 or 5 (Tyre shredder) every day but it will always include a new cam.....

If you look closely at the parts listed in the stage 3 kit you will see it includes a cam.
If it's not too much trouble, may I have you guys look at it and explain to me whether I am missing out on anything? Specifically, I planned to have the stage 2 torque kit put in as well.

The 92500056 part number (Stage 3 kit) includes the new Cam.....look here...
The Stage 2 Torque cam won’t be fitted......it can’t be, but your Stage 3 kit comes with the new cam to suit your bigger displacement. It’s the thing in the middle of the pic in my link. You are not missing anything my friend....go for it, but also get the new 8 lobe oil pump as bigger builds can be prone to sumping
Thanks Oz. I understand what you mean now. Last question I have is, is there no more distinction of torque-or-power improvement in stage 3 anymore, like in stage 2? Since in the description it states that both power and torque get improved. I am wondering if the distinction (power vs torque kit) is only relevant in stage 2.
