Default M8 water cooled 10min oil vent

Ok warranty freaks...may as well move on .....this is not for you or will i debate it........ Just dont know if anybody has done this way instead of quicky oil cap vent or expensive billet oil cap vent thats on the market....Simple plug in top middle of trans goes direct to oil pan / tank in trans. 3/16 allen pull plug. Drill out plug for simple fitting...i use 3/8 fitting. Piece of 3/8 gas/oil line. I do wipe all lettering off the line with a bit of carb cleaner....for good reason. This one snuck rite thru a warranty claim while he was on the road...lmao. He had and oil presure sender go bad and we had not put a gauge on like i have done most of them. Tech never saw it and off he went free free free....but tech did set tires for him....24 in rear 39 front. Good reason to stay out of dealerships and recheck everything....even if you didnt ask them to do it....they need to burn time.
price you ask? 3.65 for filter hose and fitting. Took all of ten mins. Put something in oil fill if you have to take it out so you dont drop anything in hole.....my friggin hands were to big to do the job without removal. Have 3 like this plus the vented to atmosphere heads. No oil smell....none use a drop of oil between oil changes. We only run 3.2 quarts of oil now in all of them. Hey just showing what we do for a few pennies. Almost nobody notices it either

So are you doing this to relieve crank case pressure and minimize what is being scavenged into the intake?

. Your confusing 2 seperate issues....
I vent both pressure in oil system ...Also separately vent head breathers to atmosphere....another subject as i get a bit agressive there.... We have 5 m8 touring bikes like this now and all live happily with no BS stories and many many miles. One is a big inch fuel moto kit . But these 5 guys know better than get sucked into dealer stage kits...they have been around a long long time lol .
This post is only to show guys that didn't know about the extra plug in top of trans for oil system instead of expensive ugly filler cap vents.....You decide if it works or not. 5 bucks or 300 bucks. You decide whats best lmao

I’m very confused on what this post is about. I’m too old and cranky to struggle through posts like this to figure out what it’s about...

Aggressive is right because I simply have not F&*&$ idea what you are trying to accomplish. I really am just asking a question. Maybe someone else will let me in on the secret of what this is about.

I think I see where he is going with this, but the posts are just a bit muddy for us mortals.
I am all about venting the crankcase, and this mod can be made rather discreetly, but I am unclear about putting the vent at the transmission. His original post seems to say that the trans AND the oil pan are both vented at that location, after drilling and tapping that plug. Does this sound correct, or am I reading it wrong?

If that bike was OIL COOLED, the plug he pulled form the top of the transmission, would be for the oil return line from the cylinder heads. It doesn't go into the transmission, but dumps back into the oil pan. What he is demonstrating is only workable on a LIQUID COOLED bike as the plug he drilled and tapped would be a connected to the return hose on the oil cooled bikes. So effectively, it is a vent for the oil pan.
