I'm not seeing any problems with them pistons or cylinders. Granted those pics kinda suck. The cylinders just look like light's reflecting off the cylinder wall. That horizontal "scratching" is the cross thatching that's from the original hone. Those will stay visible for thousands of miles. I guarantee the walls are smooth to the touch. Some wear of that black stuff on the piston skirt is totally normal. Hell, lots of pistons don't even come with that coating. And the ones I took out of my dad's 88K mile Twin Cam engine were worn down the size of a half dollar.
Thanks for your input Matt,
I'm just going to ride it and enjoy it.
Update: They have now completely torn down the stock 2019 CVO 117 with the sumping engine. It turns out that the power plant is toast. I am not sure if Harley will be doing a rebuild or as on my engine a rebuild. This bike is about a year old and has about 21000 miles. The owner is an older gentleman who used to work in a Harley shop in a nearby large city and has a long history with Harleys. He is a high mileage rider who does mostly solo touring.
I got a call this afternoon from my Harley dealer and they said that my bike would be ready for pick up tomorrow. This makes it 6 weeks from the date I took it in. I sure hope they have solved the sumping issue with the new 2020 pump. I will ride it and hope for the best, knowing that I still have the ESP to fall back on. 2019 stock CVO 117 w/ sumping

what's the point of posting about somebody else's 'completely torn down engine 'that is toast due to sumping' , and following up with a picture to try and prove that statement? when the picture of it is not disassembled in any way..pic didn't add much credence to claim is all I'm saying
I don't think that anything I post would please you. Yesterday afternoon when I got the phone call saying that they expected my bike would be ready today, they also informed me about the results of my buddies bike tear-down. I did not have time to go back into the shop for another picture. I posted that picture to show which bike I was talking about.
Today when I go back to the shop I will take another picture, hope that will suffice.

just saying your pic didn't lend any support to your story but appears to have been intended to, which I just found to be kind of useless
Yeah, fuzzy pics of bikes on lifts isn't any kind of "proof" unless gaslighting is now accepted as proper behavior.
I'd sure like to see the service order on this sumped machine. Nobody, to my knowledge, has ever posted a simple pic of their service order after a sump and repair.
As easy as it is to post fuzzy pics of bikes on lifts, why is it so hard to scan and post a copy of the service order?

You're wasting your time with the Fanboyz. It really wouldn't matter if you had a signed document from the dealer or from Harley Corporate, they would dismiss it because it's never happened to their bike. Lots of guys before you tried sharing real world experiences of sumping.
No big deal, just be glad your bike is on the way to being fully repaired. At least now there is a real solution (2020 8-lobe oil pump) unlike the past three years where HD customers with sumping engines were used as guinea pigs for HD engineering to develop a fix.

Scanning is not even necessary; just take a photo of the service order on your phone. Same process as taking a pic of a bike, but perhaps more informative.

yup, over the years many have asked many times..I don't recall anyone either that was willing to do so..I've posted many R.O.s from our dealership for our problems..took all of a couple minutes, such a simple follow through...after awhile, of course some reports have raised suspicion..but guess we should just blindly believe everything we read on the internet..if this happened to me and was asked to post the R.O. I would share it in a heartbeat, no big deal at all...but so many just couldn't for some reason or another
