The pistons Max was talking about were from the unmodified 117 that was parked next to mine, not from the modified stage 4 114 with the 2020 pump.. There were 3 bikes in the shop at the time, 2 117s and the stage 4 114. The 3rd unmodified 117 was repaired earlier and was back on the road. I guess that is a little confusing.

Ok, I guess. And youre sure the upgraded 114 has a 2020 oil pump and failed due to sumping? And they followed the procedure in SB1450? If so, the techs would have to measure the oil volume that drained from the CPS to make their warranty claim to HD Corporate. Otherwise, the engine did not fail from sumping.
No you just have to pay attention. I addressed this earlier in the thread. We have 6 twin cooled bikes in our group. 4 have been affected. 3 117's and 1 stage 4 114. 2 117s and the stage 4 114 were in the shop at the same time.
You specifically responded to that posting, saying "its the luck of the draw".

nah, I'm good at this point..some shop somewhere is repairing some bikes for something or another
Heatwave, that bike was in another part of the shop, being worked on by another technician. I took a couple of shots, asked a couple of questions and then moved on. The technician did say it had a 2020 pump which was installed in October, and he did say the bike was sumping. I did not quiz him on how thorough he had been.
Max, perhaps you have not read back through this thread. None of the 3 117's that have had this issue had any engine work nor did they have any special tuning, just the
SE Street Tuner. My bike also had the Smart Tuner Pro.
If we go back to the last assembly technician then that would be at the factory.
So you are saying that all the 117 motors had seized pistons like above and it was caused by sumping?
Add:
What was mileage? These are all guys riding in the same group? Where were you riding?

We have 2 bikes here that have sumped in this post and been fixed the rest is hearsay as far as I'm concerned.
The 8 lobe has proven itself. So, regarding late 2019 and beyond bikes sumping with the 8 lobe, as far as I'm concerned any reports of them will be filed away as "**** happens" In the "Who Cares" drawer.
